  6. MOE’s STELLAR Vision Children who… love reading and have a strong foundation in the English Language. NCPS EL Department Vision instil the love for English Language Learning and Reading through different strategies while integrating 21CC and values into the curriculum 6

  7. STELLAR & Language Learning Teaching and learning of English Language using more speaking and listening activities. Children learn reading and writing using rich and interesting books, with discussions led by the teacher. 7

  8. What is a STELLAR lesson like? Shared Reading Experiences Children read storybook with the teacher and engage in oral discussions with teacher and peers. Shared Writing Language Use Activities in Learning Centres Experiences The teacher prepares mini lessons The teacher models writing based on specific needs of children using children’s language. to prepare them for reading & Children engage in writing writing activities; e.g. grammar, together and in writing vocabulary, word recognition, independently. decoding skills, spelling. 8
