What is Leader in Me? By: Wil Brunty / 4 th Grade Teacher
The first 3 habits are about self improvement.
Talk to your child about: How they are in control of their lives. How they have the power to choose their own path and not be like everyone else.
Talk to your child about: Setting short and long term goals for themselves. How having a vision for their life sets them up for success.
Talk to your child about: Spending time on what is most important first. Completing tasks once started.
Habits 4, 5, and 6 are about working well with others.
Talk to your child about: Taking time to think about what other people want as well as what they want. Recognizing that other people may have a different point of view from them and that is okay.
Talk to your child about: Communication is requires listening and speaking. Taking time to understand the point of view of other people can help us grow as a person.
Talk to your child about: Working well with others is a great way to build relationships and making friends People working well together can get more done than one person working alone.
Talk to your child about: Spending “down” time on things that can improve us as a person. Taking care of our body through a balanced diet and exercise.
