Background WTA works with employers and local governments to reduce single occupancy auto commute trips in Washington County. WTA’s membership represents 15 -20% of the total number of employees in Washington County.
Activities and Programs Employer based programs Workplace events • 2018: 34 events & 3,700 people • 2016: 12 events & 1,500 people ECO survey support • 12 employers & 62 work sites WTA hosted events • Information sessions • Local conversations & networking
Activities and Programs Leveraging Statewide Campaigns Bike More Challenge WTA League • 2018: 11 teams & 850 people • 2016: 6 teams & 200 people Oregon Drive Less Challenge Commuter Kickbacks • Log 4 days of non-drive alone commuting per month for chance to win prizes
Activities and Programs Aloha-Reedville bike parking • Installed 10 racks at community- identified locations Bike Share 2017 Pilot 2018 Program • 46% of trips were first/last mile to MAX • Improved work environment • 100% of participants • 50% of non-participants • Improved employee performance • 86% of participants 2018 Annual Report available at www.wta-tma.org/annualreport
Future Plans Strengthen services for employers and partners • Support workplace events and activities • Leverage statewide events to maximize local participation • Improve ECO survey process • Look for opportunities to administer programs like bike share Expand partnerships • Engage more employers and local governments • Smaller employers, lower wage job sites, & property managers • Develop & enhance programs to benefit these partners – i.e. new commuter benefit program Community-based programs • Commuter Kickbacks • Equity view of transportation issues and how WTA can help • Investigate how to build community consensus around travel options usage
