You have complete ownership in the creation of your schedule. Arena scheduling prepares you for the college scheduling process. Instruction and learning begins the first day of school; no drop/a p/add dd period od. You receive your final schedule at the end of your arena scheduling day!!! You create your own schedule based on your needs. You have an awareness of the master schedule and take an active role in the scheduling process.
You are given the program of studies which is located on the guidance webpage. You are given a one week to complete course request sheets. You will meet with teachers and counselors. The High School’s Master Schedule is created based on your course requests. With the help of teachers and counselors you will use the High School’s Master schedule; which will be available on-line, to create at least three ee possibl ssible e sched edul ules es.
Today we will determine the scheduling order. English classes are selected on a lottery basis. If you are late turning in your course request sheet or you are not prepared with three alternative schedules you will not be able to participate in arena scheduling with your English class and a schedule will be made for you!!!
When you are in the arena you will be able to schedule all of your courses. You will travel to each course department to pick up a card containing the course you want on your schedule. The Lead Teachers and other selected teachers will be checking to ensure that you are selecting the correct course.
Announcements will be made in the arena and online each night when courses have closed. Once courses have closed, you will have to go to your alternative schedules (Three schedules required). Once you gather all class cards to create a schedule, you will proceed to the data entry table to have your schedule typed in.
After the arena scheduling day, you may not change your schedule for any reason. Administration and counselors may change schedules for the following reasons: Summer school completed 1. Insufficient credits for graduation 2. Keystone results 3. Administrative discretion 4. Course adjustment due to college/career 5. change
