Introduction: Who We Are • Formed in 1954 as the Geelong and District Community Chest, becoming United Way Geelong Region in 1979. • 2011 become Give Where You Live Inc. as a means of keeping all raised funds under our control and in the Geelong region. • Over the last 60 years we have contributed more than $42M to charitable and welfare not for profit organisations in the Geelong region to reduce disadvantage. • Our goal is to be a catalyst for positive social change by ensuring our contributions have the greatest measurable impact on disadvantage, through mobilising resources, enabling partnerships and funding innovative programs.
Introduction: Community Contributions In 2014 we expected to contribute $1.5-2M to the Geelong Region through: • 2014 Grant Round Grants (Community, Capital Works and Equipment, Innovation and Capacity Building Grants) • Feed Geelong Grants • Direct Assistance Voucher (DAV) Program • Collective Impact Strategy • Strategic Grantmaking

2014 Grant Round: Eligibility We do not fund: We fund charitable organisations that have: • Individuals • Clinical or medical research • Endowment Funds • Tax Concession Charity (TCC) and • Conferences or fundraising events • Retrospective or duplicated funding • Deductible Gift Recipient Item 1 • Programs that discriminate or create (DGR1) status and community conflicts • Auspicing (the organization applying MUST the one undertaking the project • Whose proposed projects will impact or program) the Geelong region - City of Greater • Previous grant recipients who have not Geelong, Surf Coast Shire, Borough of completed reporting and acquittal Queenscliffe, and southern Golden requirements Plains Shire • Specific exclusions for a nominated Grant Round or Category

2014 Grant Round: Capital Works and Equipment Grants • Small Grants up to $10,000 • Major Grants for Planning up to $50,000 • Major Grants for Implementation up to $75,000 • Applications Due Friday, April 11 (COB)
2014 Grant Round: Community Grants • Small Grants up to $10,000 • Medium Grants up to $30,000 • Applications Due Friday, April 11 (COB)

2014 Grant Round: Innovation Grants • 2 year Grants - $70,000 a year ($140,000 over the two years) • 4 Step Process 1. Telephone consultation to endorse suitability 2. Expression of Interest Application 3. Full Application (by invitation only) 4. Presentation to Grant Advisory Group • Expressions of Interest Due Wednesday, March 26 (COB)
Key Changes For 2014 Grant Round • Longer timeframe to submit a grant application • Online application process • Right sizing of applications • Right sizing of expectations • More public information and technical assistance sessions
What Remains the Same For 2014 Grant Round • Criteria more heavily weighted to Community Need (25%) and Evaluation and Impact (35%) • Focus on two tiered evaluation
