Scope of Scope of Application pplication  Applies to every employer & employee in the Private Security Sector including car guards  Private Security Sector means the sector in which employers and employees are associated for the purpose of guarding or protecting:  Fixed property;  Premises;  Goods;  Persons or employees; Including monitoring & responding to alarms at premises which are guarded by electronic means  Excludes manager & those subject to bargaining council agreement  Rates applicable to employee determined by area where duty is performed  Subject to National Key-point Act, 1980 – determination also applies to employers & employees who provide such services 3

Minimum inimum Wa Wages s paid i id in the s sector • Table 4 was Phased out in the third year of the Determination ( 1 September 2011) • Grade “E” security officer was incorporated within grade “D” in the second year of the Determination ( 1 September 2010 • For the second year increases Grade D increased by inflation rate plus 7.25% while Grade C to D was increased by Grade D Rand value ( 1 September 2010) • For the Third year increases Grade D was increased by inflation rate plus 7% while Grade C to D will increase by Grade D Rand value ( 1 September 2011) 6
