NEW HEALTH EQUITY METRIC The Health Equity Testing Percentage will place Counties in one of the Tiers: This metric will NOT move counties back a tier, only up a tier!
C OUNTY T IER S TATUS & H EALTH E QUITY M ETRIC FOR A COUNTY WITH A POPULATION OF GREATER THAN 106,000, THE COUNTY MUST: Ensure that the test positivity rates in its most disadvantaged neighborhoods do not significantly lag behin d its overall county test positivity rate AND Submit a plan that meets criteria : (1) defines its disproportionately impacted populations (2) specifies the percent of its COVID-19 cases in these populations and (3) shows that it plans to invest Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Prevention and Control of Emerging Infectious Disease. Plan can include spending on augmenting testing, disease investigation, contact tracing, isolation/quarantine support, and education and outreach efforts for workers. The County of San Diego has submitted a plan.

HALLOWEEN GUIDANCE UPDATE NOT ALLOWED: • In-person gatherings, events, or parties with more than 3 households are not permitted , even if they are conducted outdoors, since maintaining 6-feet of distance between participants cannot be easily maintained. 11

• Most children, youth, and their caregivers can receive testing, in partnership with Rady Children’s Hospital, through the COVID-19 Collaborative for Children. • Children, youth, and caregivers covered by Kaiser Permanente should consult with their pediatrician or physician provider directly. • If children or youth are unable to get tested from their healthcare provider, children 6 months and older are able to be tested at all County coordinated sites. TESTING AVAILABLE FOR CHILDREN 6 MONTHS & OLDER!
2021 CECO Grant WE RISE BY LIFTING OTHERS The CECO Grant is for non-profits that aim to improve services that address the diverse needs of the San Diego region. FLU VACCINE CLINICS • The influenza vaccine is now available at doctors’ offices and pharmacies throughout San Diego County and is covered by medical insurance • People who do not have healthcare coverage can get vaccinated at one of the County’s six Public Health Centers or a local community clinic • The County is hosting free flu shot events from October 22nd through November 3rd.
