What are businesses doing? Foxtel are committed to supporting the Games by re-scheduling their new installations in the lead up to and after Games. This means they are reducing trips on the network at the critical times. Sea World Resort are stockpiling non-perishable goods in readiness for the Games and are providing shuttle buses for staff and guests to ensure they get to work or public transport stations. Gold Coast Airport has held workshops for their operations, precinct, ground transport and terminal staff and business to ensure they all have a Games time travel action plan. 13
Myth busters – the facts The M1 will not have dedicated Games lanes. Only very few people will require Local Access Permits. For security reasons, the Queensland Police Service will manage water traffic near GC2018 events. This may lead to restrictions to on-water use in these areas. We have some brochures detailing changes to Waterways. There will be an increase in services and updating timetables across our public transport network. Parking will be restricted at rail stations. 14
