04.05.20 WALT- Make our own balance scales

05.05.20 WALT – Measure different volumes to make a potion
You will need: A variety of different containers/ bottles (check your recycling bin for these!) A measuring jug/container of some kind Different coloured liquids or potion ingredients. You can use rice, beans, water – water with food colouring etc.
Time to make your potion ingredients!!! For example: Inky slime – capacity 300ml Volume – 225ml On your bottles or containers, can you write the capacity of each one and also the amount of liquid you have added to it.
Now it ’ s time to make your potion! Write a set of instructions on how to make your potion, and be specific about how much of each ingredient you will need (otherwise you might make a completely different potion altogether!!!) Potion for resilience 1. Start off with 125ml of frog’s breath. 2. Next, add a few drops (5ml) of dragon’s blood. 3. After that, pour 56ml of inky slime into the bottle. 4. Mix your potion together. 5. Finally, shake a tiny amount (2ml) of Fairie’s tears into you concoction. 6. Drink on an empty stomach for amazing resilience!

07.05.20 WALT – Improve our measurement skills on mathletics Spend an hour on mathletics doing some measurement based activities to help improve your skills and knowledge.
