WHAT IS YEE ? Youth and Environment Europe ( YEE ) is the largest independent European network of environmental youth organizations . OUR GOAL IS TO MITIGATE THE CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENTAL CRISIS BY : Raising awareness and building capacity among youth on environmental conservation and the climate crisis; Enhancing international cooperation and knowledge- sharing among our members; Strengthening youth participation in environmental and climate decision-making processes. YEE was founded in 1983 in Stockholm . YEE has an office located at the heart of Europe , Prague . 1
YEE Structure Youth and Environment Europe is a network led by the youth, for the youth A board composed of six members under 30 , ideally gender YEE BO A RD and geographically balanced The network is supported by a dynamic staff of under 35 : a secretary - general , a finance coordinator , a project manager ; YEE OFFICE usually hosting 2 ESC Volunteers per year . YEE MEMBERS We gather 42 members organisations in 26 countries . YEE is proud to have many members around the Black Sea and the Central and Eastern Europe region V We believe in the essential role of young people in solving the climate crisis and achieving a socially fair transition that leaves no one behind . YEE is a founding member of Generation Climate Europe , the first coalition of youth - led NGOs at the European level , pushing for stronger action from the EU on climate and environmental issues .
