  2. Washington Washington Mind was established in 1981, a local charity providing mental health and wellbeing support, services and training for our local community. Providing services in Washington, Sunderland and the Coalfields

  3. History of the site H i s t o r y In 2011 Washington Mind were commissioned to develop printed wellbeing guides for the Sunderland, Gateshead and South Tyneside areas. An online version of the guide was launched in 2012, covering the three South of Tyne and Wear areas to encourage local people to make the most of themselves and help improve their own health and wellbeing and that of those they care about. Fast forward to 2017 and the web site has seen a number of transformations with a wide range of functions added over the last fjve years. The resource is now commissioned jointly by Sunderland City Council, South Tyneside Council and Washington Mind.

  10. Visiting the site... Our search and it’s functionality The search function works like Google in that it scores a page by looking for the search words within the content. For example if you searched for ‘sexual health’ it will look at page titles, page content and page images and order them due to the score it has given the content. If a page has the words in the name, content and images it will score higher and display higher in the results.

Young people can access the young people area by using the link; www.wellbeinginfo.org/yp This means the page can be marketed to young people using this link and visitors can access their dedicated area without having to visit the rest of the site. The entrance to the dedicated area looks like a separate homepage which means it feels more like a more young people specifi c site. Accessing young people specifi c information has been made easier by adding image links as seen on the right. Dedicated young people news is also available and young people related videos can be found on this page.
