Source: “Advanced Manufacturing: A Snapshot of the Priority Technology Areas Across the Federal Government,” released by The Executive Office of the President, Subcommittee for Advanced Manufacturing of the National Science and Technology Council in April 2016 THE NEED: U.S. Veterans face significant barriers to civilian VETERANS TRAINED & employment, and a high unemployment rate. CERTIFIED: 3.4 Million manufacturing jobs will be needed 288 over the next decade and 2 Million jobs will go unfulfilled due to the lack of a skilled workforce. CERTIFICATIONS: MEETING THE NEED: 1,000 WFW’s work serves the dual benefit of providing Veterans with life-sustaining careers, and helping to regrow America’s manufacturing workforce. FROM DEC 2011 to JUNE 2016 Last updated June 2016 WFW graduates are prepared for jobs by earning nationally recognized credentials and hands-on- training. 3 OUR MISSION To provide quality training, educational programs, and opportunities to earn third party nationally recognized credentials to enable veterans, transitioning service members, and other students to be successfully trained and placed in their chosen advanced manufacturing career field. We address two social issues that are negatively impacting society—veteran and wounded warrior unemployment and declining manufacturing pipeline of skilled workers. Workshops for Warriors is a board-run, fully audited, 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering veterans free training and certification in advanced manufacturing skills. 4 2

The Aerospace & Defense Forum San Diego Chapter July 26, 2016 WHERE THE WORKSHOPS FOR WARRIORS ALUMS ARE NOW 7 BIGGEST CHALLENGE = RELIABLE FUNDING • Facility costs are $200,000 per month • Each student costs $12,000 per semester • Classes are free to veterans • No government funding • Students cannot use GI bill benefits (yet) 8 4
