Radhika Khaitan Mittal – After completing a degree in Finance, Accounts & Management from the University of Nottingham, UK, Radhika went on to complete an associates degree in Visual Communication from FIDM, USA. She set up WorkshopQ along with her sister to fuse her love for the environment and design in one! OUR FOUNDERS Madhvi Khaitan Pittie – Armed with a BA in Finance and Accounting from the univeristy of Warwick, UK, Madhvi also gained an associates degree in Visual Communication from FIDM, USA. Upon coming back to India she found WorkshopQ with her sister to put her skills of detailed design and love for sustainability to good use!

AWARENESS THROUGH ART Giving more permanent solutions to our cause of UPCYCLING Under this mission of Awareness through Art’, we aim to target public spaces/events and showcase large-scale installations, sculptures and home décor products made from industrial waste to riase awareness about environmental issues that affect us in our daily lives. Breathing new life into the old & wasted was a process that excited us & we knew that the possibilities are endless with large “Art is so much more than environmental impacts. At WorkshopQ, we you think; although it can’t employ a zero waste policy where we upcycle directly solve the problems, it shines issues in a new light”. every bit of waste, even one that is generated by -Carlijn Diesfeldt us.

  8. This 8x11 feet Art Installation at the Jaya He GVK Museum (Mumbai International Airport) is a celebration of the very traditional Marathi ‘Paithani’ weave and the discarded plastic bag. Embracing the concept of transformation and reuse as a fundamental aesthetic principle, a handcrafted fabric of waste plastic bags and wrappers made on a traditional charkha and handloom forms the base of RE-THINKING THE PAITHANI WEAVE this artwork.

  9. THE BUMBLEBEE Made using 1600 kgs of waste & redundant metal truck parts, this 12’6” tall Bumblebee was made for Ashok Leyland to show off the company’s strength and might at its Global Conference celebrating their 70 th anniversary. From the movie ‘Transformer’, this Bumblebee is completely upcycled from waste metal procured from Ashok Leyland’s warehouse and scrap yard.

  10. AUTOMATIC GANPATI Currently placed at Delhi, this 6’6” tall Ganpati we made for Ford earned them a silver at the OOH awards 2018! Using 900 kgs of waste metal car parts procured from Ford, the company aimed to pay a tribute to Lord Ganesha.

  11. AUTOMATIC “mini” GANPATI Made for Ford for their corporate gifting, these smaller Ganpatis were handcrafted using Ford India’s smaller metal automobile waste parts. The entire process of sorting through their scrap, ideating these mini idols and giving it life and form through welding was a remarkable experience.

  12. UPCYCLED FURNITURE This Maharaja chair was made from 130 kgs of metal waste obtained from automobile and car scrap yards. An avid collector, wanted an eye-catching piece at his weekend house. Giving form to his idea that too from waste; pleasures of Upcycling!

  13. An Art Installation made to commemorate the 10th year of Sankalp Global Summit showcasing India’s entrepreneurship & innovation. This was an entirely sustainable project where the local bamboo community was involved to intricately weave 20 kgs of colorful bamboo strips around a bamboo framework. BAMBOO ZENTANGLE

  14. PLASTIC RAINBOW CANOPY WorkshopQ upcycled 5000 PET bottles to create this rainbow canopy for the TATA Mumbai Marathon. Measuring 20 ft long, this installation was created for the ‘Bottles for Change’ campaign by Bisleri, India.

  15. SMALLER METAL SCULPTURES Created for residential projects, these small sculptures have also been fabricated from waste metal. A series of metal flowers made from waste Iron Nails, A Room Divider being made from 150 kgs of circular saw punches, A Garden Window sculpture being made from scrap metal strips, & A “Bear-me” Sculpture being made from redundant machine parts.

  16. SERIES OF ART Conceptualized and manufactured for an art institute in Jaipur, India, these installations were all upcycled from salvaged wood, waste iron pipes, scrap bicycle wheels & a bicycle we found in the junkyard as well! Hoping to inspire the next-gen designers, we kept the installations basic but whimsical at the same time.

  17. Handcrafted trunks made from Hyundai Motor’s packaging waste metal sheets. This product completes the perfect cycle of a Circular Economy from production to recycling, manifesting Hyundai’s philosophy of Re- use, Reduce and Recycle. RE-PURPOSING PACKAGING WASTE AS GIFT BOXES
