STRATEGIC GOALS
Strategy: • Strategy is a roadmap of how to implement the vision and achieve the organization’s goals. It keeps the organization going in the right direction.
Strategic Goals Strategic Goals are only as effective as the process of achieving them. We will use the “ SMART ” goal process ( S pecific, M easurable, A ttainable, R ealistic, T imely) to our Strategic Goals are achieved.
Strategic Goals Specific : Is the goal specific enough for clarity so that everyone will understand it? Measurable : Is there a way to measure the success of the goal? Attainable : Is the goal truly attainable by us within a reasonable time? Realistic : Is the goal realistically written? Timely : Is there a timeline associated to the goal to ensure completion and accountability?

Metropolis of Atlanta CLERGY Task Force
CLERGY Goal 1.1 Within 18 months, we will develop a comprehensive continuing education, mentoring and leadership development program for all clergy in our Metropolis that we will fully implement within 24 months thereafter for all clergy to regularly participate in educational and mentoring programs to aid in their professional, spiritual and personal growth and effectiveness.
CLERGY Goal 1.2 Within 8 months, will develop a comprehensive plan to effectively manage clergy transitions at Parishes which will be implemented throughout our Metropolis within 12 months.
CLERGY Goal 1.3 Within 12 months we will develop specific and comprehensive criteria for Clergy evaluation within our Metropolis that will be fully implemented within 6 months thereafter.
Metropolis of Atlanta EDUCATION Task Force
EDUCATION Goal 2.1 Within 24 months, we will make available through an Electronic Resource Center the best Religious Education programs and materials for all constituencies with the Metropolis of Atlanta.
EDUCATION Goal 2.2 Within 18 months, we will implement a system for training and use of the best Religious Education programs and materials with on hands implementation as well as inclusion in the Electronic Resource Center to all Parishes in the Metropolis of Atlanta, including a system of continual review, evaluation and improvement of those programs and materials.
EDUCATION Goal 2.3 Within 18 months, we will make available a best practices Orthodox Leadership Training program for all our Parish and Ministry leaders, future leaders and youth, focusing on increasing meaningful results, leadership succession and Parish and community involvement and interaction, that will be regularly and continuously taught through the Metropolis of Atlanta thereafter.
Metropolis of Atlanta FAMILY Task Force
FAMILY Goal 3.1 Within twelve months we will develop and communicate an Orthodox Building Blocks (OBB) that provides a step-by- step process to assist parents in bringing up spiritually healthy Orthodox Children (birth to 5) that each Parish in the Metropolis will begin to implement within the next 9 months.
FAMILY Goal 3.2 Within 9 months we will develop a program to connect newly married couples to each other and to the community that each Parish in the Metropolis will begin to implement within the next 12 months.
FAMILY Goal 3.3 Within 12 months we will create a program that teaches how to create an Orthodox home environment, that each parish in the Metropolis will begin to implement, within 12 months.
FAMILY Goal 3.4 Within 12 months we will develop a ministry program for our seniors that will address their physical, emotional, personal, and spiritual well-being that each Parish in our Metropolis will begin to implement within the next 12 months.
Metropolis of Atlanta OUTREACH AND EVANGELISM Task Force
OUTREACH AND EVANGELISM Goal 4.1 Within 2 years, we will establish a Missions, Evangelism and Philanthropic Outreach Ministry in each Parish, that within 12 months from formation will: (a) energize an effective Welcoming Ministry to improve outreach and growth; (b) plan and execute specific local and regional Parish outreach events; and (c) implement at least one signature Outreach, Evangelism or Philanthropic Ministry.
OUTREACH AND EVENGELISM Goal 4.2 Within 18 Months, we will establish a Missions, Outreach, and Philanthropic Outreach Ministry resource center that will collect and teach best practices and effective ministry programs that is disseminated and taught to all Parishes throughout our Metropolis and reinforced and implemented through quarterly regular regional events and training programs.
OUTREACH AND EVANGELISM Goal 4.3 Within 18 months we will implement a comprehensive program throughout the Metropolis for effective Parishes to mentor and work with new, mission and challenged Parishes to establish together strong, effective and purposeful Orthodox communities capable of passing on a healthy faith to their surrounding communities and children.
Metropolis of Atlanta SPIRITUAL GROWTH Task Force
SPIRITUAL GROWTH Goal 5.1 Within 12 months, we will develop an internet based platform with at least 52 component episodes that provide educational audio-or video-based content related to personal spiritual growth, which will be communicated on a weekly basis and released to all parishes and parishioners within 12 months
SPIRITUAL GROWTH Goal 5.2 Within 12 months, we will develop a music program based on the liturgical calendar which will allow the entire community to actively participate in the singing of the most common hymns of the Faith.
Metropolis of Atlanta STEWARDSHIP Task Force
STEWARDSHIP Goal 6.1 Within 3 years, each Parish will begin to implement our Metropolis’ comprehensive stewardship program, including a youth stewardship program, adapted to the needs of that Parish.
STEWARDSHIP Goal 6.2 Within 2 years, we will establish a process and resource for collecting and sharing stewardship best practices, including regional stewardship summits.
