Where Do I Start? • Discuss this project with your family. • Decide if you will be able to participate on Tuesday, March 17 beginning at 5:30. • If you choose to participate, choose a book, and write the title on the sign-up sheet. • Also, circle whether it is FICTION or NONFICTION. • It will be judged differently based on this! We will send you back the scoring guide for your choice. Our family is going to participate in the Book Parade on Tuesday, March 17 at 5:30. Our book is _______________________________.   4. Where do I start? Check whether you want a free white tri-fold from the school or buy one of your own.  Return the sign-up form to your teacher by Thursday, March 12 th .

  5. PRIZES • Each participant will receive a gift certificate to use at the BOGO (Buy One, Get One Free) book fair in May for one Free Book. • 3 rd place will receive a $10.00 gift certificate to be used at the BOGO book fair in May.

Creating Your Trifold Display Board • Your trifold board should represent the book your family chose. • You will receive a checklist and a scoring rubric to let you know EXA XACTL CTLY what to put on the board and what the judges will be looking for. • Make sure that each part is represented on the board. • There are lots of picture of boards created last year on our website.

  15. Judging • Each trifold board will be judged according to the rubric. During the judging the child/children must be present and prepared to answer questions about the book and completing the project. • Parents may help with the creation of the board, but will not help answer questions. Parents will be asked to attend the Leader in Me Workshop during the judging. Parents may take pictures before and after judging. Parent of Kindergarten students may stand with their child. • The students need to speak so that they can be heard clearly, make eye contact with the judge, and speak with expression and excitement about their books.
