ESL EXCELS Program at WVS U Excellence in Culture and English Language Study (EXCELS) Program: Undergraduate students with less than 6.0 IELTS or equivalent and graduate students with less than 6.5 IELTS score, are required to attend a mandatory 4 week extended orientation as part of their degree program, comprising of intensive English preparation and academic readiness, starting in July prior to Fall start. The 4 week program is $4,000 including tuition, transportation from airport, housing and meals. Summer Application Deadline: May 15

CPT/OPT WORK PROGRAMS • Curriculum Practical Training: • Eligible after year one (undergraduate and graduate) Optional Practical Training: • Job must be within your field of study and appropriate to your degree level. • Can start before or after you finish your studies • Maximum of 12 months • STEM Extension after OPT • Eligibility to be determined by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services • Maximum of 24 additional months extension after OPT (for total eligibility • of up to 36 months ) WVSU has a dedicated career services team to assist students.

(If a • national examination is required upon the completion of schooling in the country of origin, official results of the examination must be submitted to WVSU. (Students from countries with a General Certificate of Education (GCE) examination system must receive a grade of six or higher in at least five academic subjects, one of which must be English.) IELTS 5.5 (undergraduate) and IELTS 6.0 for graduate (or equivalent test) • • Bank Letter (showing funds for one years expenses)/ Affidavit (if being sponsored)

  14. Visa and Payment Process • $22 application fee due with application; $39 for graduates (paid by credit card form or by wire transfer.) Student must pay a $350 refundable academic registration deposit to obtain I20 • Student must pay one semester’s tuition within two weeks of the Visa approval prior to • travel to the United States. Undergraduate students are required to live on campus pay one year’s residence hall • cost prior to arrival in the US. Campus Accommodation • Dawson Hall ($3,189- single and $2,183- double/semester) – Dawson Hall houses approximately 80 men and women. – All rooms are double occupancy ($2,183/semester) and two rooms share an adjoining bathroom. Single rooms ($3,189/semester), may be available and should be requested through the Office of Residence Life. Rooms allowing access for students with physical challenges are available. – Dawson Hall features a community lounge, computer lab, and an on-site laundry facility – • The Judge Damon J. Keith Scholars Hall (2, 3, or 4 BR - $3,417 - $3,545/semester) – 291 total beds: • 78 suite-style units – two, three and four bedroom plans • Fully furnished and rental rates are inclusive of electricity, water/sewer, trash service, cable and Internet service • Community amenities: – Café & Gaming Room – Gaming Room – Centralized laundry facilities on each floor
