I. The Bible is Inspired by the Holy Spirit A. The Word came to Jeremiah from the LORD (1). B. Scripture is written to guide us to salvation (3-6).
II. The Bible is Received by Faith (11-16) A. We start by hearing the Word (Rom. 10:17). B. Hearing the Word results in fearing the Word.
III. The Bible is Rejected by One’s Own Peril A. Jehoiakim would not hear nor fear the Word of God (20-25). B. Only two ways to respond to God’s Word : 1. Receive it by faith 2. Reject it in defiant disbelief
IV. The Bible is Preserved by God (27-32) A. God’s Word is indestructible. B. God always has the last word. Voltaire: “In twenty years Christianity will be no more.”
