Civics and Geoghaphy Overview CIVICS- TAUGHT FIRST SEMESTER Many topics of Citizenship, including the study of different types of governments such as constitutional monarchies, republics, parliamentary democracies and dictatorships, are explored in context while learning about other countries. Citizenship also covers the foundations of the U.S. government, as well as the fundamentals of the American constitution and political system. My ultimate goal is to help make students better citizens of our country and our world. GEOGRAPHY-TAUGHT SECOND SEMESTER This course covers the physical and human geography of the Eastern Hemisphere, which includes the countries and cultures of Asia, Africa, and Europe. Students learn general map skills, locations of countries and physical features of continents, as they acquire an appreciation for and understanding of diverse cultures.
