From Rady Children's Hospital • SARS‐COV‐2 IgG testing is now available for all care areas. PCR is the preferred testing modality for acute early infection, after 7 days of illness, preferably 14 days . IgG should be reserved for: 1. Patients with suspected COVID 19 symptoms >7 days 2. Patients with a past history of suspected COVID 19 illness 3. Healthcare workers • Correction : PCR is the preferred testing modality for acute early infection. Serology is best after 7 days of illness, preferably 14

Questions from Leah Kern, MD For outpatient pediatrics, when should we be doing COVID PCR tests at this time? If at all? • A symptomatic child w/ mild symptoms (fever or cough) <10 days? • An asymptomatic child with recent known COVID exposure within 10 days? When should we be doing COVID serology IgG tests? IF at all? • A symptomatic child w/ mild or moderate symptoms such as cough lasting > 10 days? • An asymptomatic child with known COVID exposure over 10 days ago? • A child with had fever or cough last month??? Family wanting to know if this was COVID
