Courses Required for Graduation - (starting with class of 2023) 9 th Grade Exercise and Sport Science: Sports and Conditioning or Exercise and Sport Science: Lifestyle & Fitness Health (required 9th or 10th grade) US and World 9 or AP Human Geography Life Science (need teacher approval) or Biology 10th Grade Health (required 9th or 10th grade) US and World 10 A and B Applied Science I or Chemistry (Applied Science is not a lab science/for non-4 year college bound students and is not approved by NCAA)

Courses Required for Graduation - (starting with class of 2023) 11th Grade US and World 11 A and B Applied Science II or Physics (Applied Science is not a lab science/for non-4 year college bound students and is not approved by NCAA) *These courses are required to take in order to meet the graduation requirement.

University Admittance Requirements ● 17 Academic Unit Requirement (UW System) ◦ 4 - English ◦ 3 - Math (Algebra, Geometry, & Advanced Math) ◦ 3 - Science (strong lab components) ◦ 3 - Social Studies ◦ 4 - Additional units (English, math, science, social studies, foreign language, etc.) ⚫ Some Universities require minimum 2 years of foreign language ⚫ Some Universities require 1 year of Fine Arts

Additional Factors in applying for college ● Strength of schedule; Rigor of Coursework ● Grade Point Average (GPA) and Class Rank ● ACT or SAT Score ● Involvement in school/community, volunteer hours, leadership, work experience, special talents ● Requirements of Universities vary – check their websites for details regarding their admittance

  17. Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Eligibility Criteria for College Credit: Must meet at least one of the following: ● Top 25% of their class ● 3.25 GPA or above ● ACT of 24 and rank in top 50% of class or 2.75 GPA

Early College Credit Program (ECCP) and Start College Now Students may be eligible to take courses at a university (ECCP) ● or a technical college (Start College Now) School Districts and colleges pay for the class ● Students are responsible for own transportation ● Strict deadlines for applications - see your high school counselor ● March 1st - fall classes October 1st - spring classes

  22. Summer School/CO-OP ● Summer School ◦ Required subjects failed during the school year may be made up during summer school ● School-to-Work Co-Op/Youth Apprenticeship ◦ Juniors/Seniors- Applications are available in the KHS Office or from Mr. Lawrence

FRESHMAN ADVANCED/ACCELERATED PLACEMENT ฀ ENGLISH 9 - All freshmen should register for English 9. ฀ ฀ Accelerated Placement in Honors English 9 The following are recommended guidelines: ● ● Top 15% on 8 th grade reading Spring MAP test ● Top 15% on 8 th grade language usage Spring MAP test ● Teacher recommendation ● Written assessment by invitation (to students meeting the above stated MAP criteria) which scores as Advanced on the KHS rubric.

  24. FRESHMAN ADVANCED/ACCELERATED PLACEMENT(Cont.) Accelerated Placement in French II or Spanish II ● Placement testing will occur within classroom with current instructor at the end of April. Students in French 8 or Spanish 8 will be evaluated for placement based on meeting the following criteria: ◦ District assessment score of 80% or higher ◦ Grade in class - B or higher If a student successfully completes French 1 or Spanish 1 , the student may select French 2 or Spanish 2

  26. Available Interventions ● Literacy Labs -- Literacy Lab is a support class offered to 9 th and 10 th grade students to remediate reading skills. ● Skills for Success -- The primary areas of focus in Skills for Success is to assist with monitoring grades and organizational skills

  27. How to sign up for Classes ENTERING COURSES INTO INFINITE CAMPUS Go to our school district website: 1. www.kaukauna.k12.wi.us Click on tab at the top “parents/students” 2. Click on the orange Parent/Student Portal 3. Enter username and password 4.

  30. Scheduling Instructions- • Click on your Post Grad Plan and then Next

  31. Click on the box that you want to select a class. Select the class you would like. PLease make sure that you have met the prerequisites for the class.

  32. ADVISORY Enter your Advisory into the 4 year plan before you start putting your classes in. You will select your Advisory under NON CREDIT at the bottom. current 9th grade - select course # 2000 current 10th grade - select course # 3000 current 11th grade - select course # 4000

  33. -SAVE - make sure you click the SAVE button at the top
