  1. WAGYU SOCIETY OF SOUTH AFRICA “Wagyu is not about meat, it is about the eating experience.” Mission To transform the South African beef industry to be highly profitable with consumers demanding and enjoying a premium eating experience.

  2. • Strategic plan of Wagyu SA – Corporate Goals: • Supply: Increase the Wagyu value chain’s ability to supply premium quality beef in sufficient volume to meet market demand. • Demand : Increase consumer demand for South African Wagyu premium quality beef. • Product Trust : Ensure trust in the African Wagyu value chain. • Social Responsibility : Socially uplift emerging beef producers enabling their involvement in the premium quality beef market. • Service Delivery : Create an effective service company delivering value-adding services to its members and customers.

  3. Wagyu is a disruptive product!!! • Some of the revolutionary facts about our breed that no one can deny: • Wagyu carcasses are fetching the highest prices of any beef cattle carcasses - and is a known commodity internationally. Wagyu meat can therefore be described as “The Best Beef Breed”… period . • Wagyu has an end consumer and that is the main reason why it is not like the coloured/ rare game industry which has been purely speculative without the end consumer in mind. • Wagyu will be one of the first breeds in South Africa to have effective full traceablity of its animals in the whole value chain through the registered Certified Wagyu Beef protocol, audited by SAMIC. Furthermore all breeding animals have to be DNA proven – this will ensure the purity of our breed and safeguard breeders. • Wagyu will be one of the first breeds in South Africa to implement a Joint Single Step Breedplan analysis with the Australian Wagyu Association. This will enable us to provide Genomically Enhanced Estimated Breeding Values to all our the animals on our database – literally saving our members a number of years.
