Introduction A vision without action is an illusion. 2 weeks of Vision to Action to set us off for the next year.
John 13:34-35 (NASB) the next step.... of Growth for SKMC is to put ACTION to God's VISION
John 13:34-35; 15:8 (NASB) 34 A new commandment I 8 My Father is give to you, that you love glorified by this, one another, even as I that you bear much have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 fruit, and so prove By this all men will know to be My disciples. that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” There is Growth and now the followers are called Disciples
My Disciples Disciple = Mathetes, someone who submits to the discipline or teaching of a leader or way of life. JESUS' DISCIPLES we are to grow in our actions of following Him.
John 13:34-35 (NASB) the next step.... In a formal sense we call it MINISTRY....but • Sharat (Heb) "to wait upon" or "serve" • Diakonia (Gk) "Service"
We must be caught by the vision of God. Then Elisha prayed and said, "O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." And the LORD opened the servant's eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings 6:17 NASB)
We must be caught by the vision of God. When we see what God sees.... Our hearts will be filled with Courage to follow Him... Our hands and feet will, in Action...follow Him.
We must be anchored in a relationship with God (The Disciple’s Cross) I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. (John 15:5 NASB)
We must be tending the inner garden of our lives. Vision IN Action
My Disciples the next steps... But someone may well say, "You have FAITH and I have works; show me your FAITH without the WORKS, and I will show you my FAITH by my WORKS." You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that FAITH without WORKS is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by WORKS when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? You see that FAITH was working with his WORKS, and as a result of the WORKS, FAITH was perfected; and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS," and he was called the friend of God. You see that a man is justified by WORKS and not by FAITH alone. (James 2:18-24 NASB)
Conclusion Central Truth: Looking after our inner life in the area of Fellowship and Witness will result in ministries of Evangelism and nurture (Masterlife – disciples cross)
