Upper Mark West Creek Sediment Reduction Project • Project Goal: The installation of road improvement measures along approximately 11.8 miles of unpaved private roads will decrease the amount of fine sediment entering Mark West Creek with the objective of increasing habitat quality for juvenile salmonids.

Project Needs • Signed Landowner Access Agreements • Cost Share Commitment per road spur (to be coordinated by road captains – Documentation!) – Purchase of road rock (discount counts towards match) – Local quarry sources of rock sold at cost – Purchase of culverts – Cash match towards project costs – In-kind services (tree trimming, seeding/mulching)

Other things that need to happen prior to implementation • PWA will flag treatment sites based on current road conditions and permit restrictions • Wildlife/Biological survey (CEQA Compliance) • Follow-up Archeological survey • Permits (DFG)
Equipment Operator Criteria • Familiarity with PWA methods • PWA Training Certificate • Previous experience working with PWA staff • Operators are welcome to submit a Statement of Qualifications
