Pleasant Ridge (Project Overview) p The site will potentially consist of a mix of units each having a hub height of 80 Meters (262 Feet) and one of two rotor diameters: 100-meter (328-foot) 130 meters (426.5 feet) for the 1.79-100 turbine n 103-meter (338-foot) 131.5 meters (431 feet) for the 1.72-103 turbine. n 1.7-100 1.7-103 Rated power: 1790 kW Rated power: 1720 kW p p Diameter 100 m (328 ft.) Diameter 103 m (338 ft.) p p Number of blades 3 Number of blades 3 p p Swept area 7,854 m2 (84,518 ft.2) Swept area 8,332 m2 (89,685 ft.2) p p Rotor speed range 9.65 to 17.9 rpm Rotor speed range 10 to 17.14 rpm p p Rotational direction Clockwise looking downwind Rotational direction Clockwise looking downwind p p Maximum tip speed 86.0 m/s (192 MPH) Maximum tip speed 84.8 m/s (189 MPH) p p Orientation Upwind Orientation Upwind p p Speed regulation Pitch control Speed regulation Pitch control p p Aerodynamic brakes Full feathering Aerodynamic brakes Full feathering p p Pitch System Pitch System p p Principle Independent blade pitch control Principle Independent blade pitch control p p Actuation Individual electric drive Actuation Individual electric drive p p Yaw System Yaw System p p Yaw rate 0.5 degree/s Yaw rate 0.5 degree/s p p 3
Pleasant Ridge (Turbine Operations) p The units operate when wind is available and shut down to conserve energy when the winds are low p Other reason for units to be stopped: Preventative maintenance activities n Repair of a fault n Line constraints on the main transmission line n p Types of fluids within the turbine: Gearbox oil – 70-105 gallons per unit, depending on Gearbox type n Hydraulic oil - ~1 gallon n Grease – two main types (no auto lubrication) n Coolant – 50/50 Glycol / Water (base of tower in the control cabinet) n 4
Pleasant Ridge (LNTE) p Some turbines will have low noise trailing edge (LNTE) blades: For the 100 meter blades, WTGs 4, 10, 22, 49, 68, 73, 76, 109, 126, 129, 136 p For the 103 meter blades, WTGs 68, 73, 126, 129 p 5

Pleasant Ridge (Turbine Operations) p The primary breaking system of the turbine is the pitch of the blades. p There is a secondary braking system on the high speed shaft of the gearbox. 8
Pleasant Ridge (Turbine Design) The electrical design of the tower conforms to the International p Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standard 60364-5-52 and with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standard 70E. NFPA’s process of development has been approved by the American p National Standards Institute (ANSI) 9
Pleasant Ridge (Transformers) The project will have two main p Generation Step Up (GSU) transformers that increase the voltage from 34,500-VAC to 345,000-VAC for the point of interconnection with the utility. Each will contain approximately 8 to 10 n thousand gallons of cooling/insulating oil (Mineral) They will be housed in our collection n substation in the Northwest part of the project Each wind turbine will have a Pad p Mount Transformer (PMT) that increases the voltage from the generator from 690-VAC to 34,500-VAC. 10
Pleasant Ridge (FAA Lightning Plan) p The application for No Hazard Determinations has been made with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). 11
Pleasant Ridge (Obstruction Light Failure Reporting) p Invenergy has an established policy for reporting Obstruction (FAA) light failures with the fleet p Failures are detected by: Electronically from the wind turbine computer system n Functional testing during our routine maintenances n Visually once a month to ensure all lights are synced together n 12
