TTUSD AT-A-GLANCE ➢ TTUSD covers approximately 723 square miles and three counties - Placer, Nevada, and El Dorado. ➢ The District is home to over 4,000 students in TK – grade 12. ➢ There are 12 schools in the District: • 5 Elementary Schools • 2 Middle Schools • 3 High Schools • 1 Independent Charter School (SELS) • 1 Independent Study School (Cold Stream Alternative)

What is Measure AA? ➢ Measure AA is a renewal measure that would maintain locally- controlled existing voter-approved funding that was first established in 1989.TTUSD has been gathering community feedback about their priorities for Tahoe Truckee schools for months. ➢ Measure AA, the Save Our Schools Renewal Measure, will be on the November 2018 ballot and if renewed, would continue providing a well-rounded, high-quality education to all students.

Why was Measure AA placed on the ballot? ➢ TTUSD has been gathering community feedback about the educational priorities for Tahoe Truckee schools for months. ➢ Measure AA would continue existing, voter-approved funding first established in 1989 so students continue to receive the educational and support services they need to succeed. ➢ Measure AA, if renewed, would continue to fund programs that are underfunded by the state to ensure students not only master the basics but are provided with a well-rounded, high-quality education that includes science, art, technology, physical education, honors and advanced placement classes, as well as job and college preparation.

How will renewing Measure AA help student success? ➢ If renewed, Measure AA will maintain career technical and vocational education training programs. ➢ Students would continue to have access to hand-on, interactive learning tools to acquire the real- world skills needed to compete for good paying jobs when they graduate.

(cont.) ➢ Measure AA would continue funding to ensure science labs, school libraries and classroom instruction keeps pace, and that our schools continue to teach students the skills they need to succeed and compete in a technologically advanced, highly competitive 21st - Century economy.

What other priorities would a Measure AA renewal maintain? ➢ Top priorities for our schools we’ve heard include: ➢ Maintaining funding for science labs, including equipment and supplies ➢ Continuing to offer extensive honors and advanced placement classes in such subjects as physics, chemistry and biology ➢ Upgrading vocational educational and career technology programs so students acquire important job skills ➢ Preparing students for college and university

How is the Measure AA renewal measure fiscally accountable? ➢ Measure AA continues to require strict accountability protections including: • An independent citizen oversight committee • Annual audits • By law, all Measure AA funds must be used in the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District • No funds could be taken by the State • No funds go to towards administrators’ salaries and benefits
