  4. • Title I is the largest federal aid program that provides financial assistance to districts to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards . • Kingsway is a Targeted Assistance district: • Receive Title I Part A funds to target services to a select group of children - those identified as not meeting, or most at risk of not meeting, the state’s student learning standards • The Title I targeted students are the only students in the school that are eligible to participate in a Title I funded activity.   5. • The purpose of Title I is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards. Title I: The Goal

  6. • Standards: • Established learning goals for what students should know and be able to do at each grade level • Contained within our curriculum • New Jersey Student Learning Standards: designed to prepare our students for college and careers by emphasizing high-level skills needed for tomorrow's world Title I: The Goal

Federal Government provides funding to the state; State Educational Agency allocates funds to the district Percentage of low-income student population determines the funding that the district receives Student performance, using multiple measures, determines students’ eligibility for Title I participation (“at - risk”) – i.e. (i.e. recommendations, course grades, and/or standardized test scores) Title I: Funding/Eligibility
