Echo Echo lost her voice because Hera knew what was going on Hera was chasing Zeus and Echo and she punished Echo by Echo chattered and gossiped with Hera losing her voice and repeating and Hera got mad and put a spell everything everyone says on Echo

Each time Zeus raced into the forest with Hera close on his heels, Echo sidetracked her with chatter and gossip.

Spotting echo, Zeus asked echo to help Zeus escape the eagle eye of his wife because Zeus was flirting with girls and asked echo to help him hide from Hera his wife . Zeus was looking for a place to hide because his wife Hera was after Zeus again and he stopped and asked Echo to help him hide.
