Background • Minor Ailments Service Locally commissioned, transfer from PCT to CCG • Opportunity to improve volume and make bigger contribution • Contribution valued for ease of use, opening hours • Concerns regarding Consistency, Communication, Equity
CCG Commissioner Perspective • Previous Service valued but CCGs seek bigger contribution to urgent care and transformational change agenda • The CCG takes a less paternalistic view – Contractors and Pharmacists responsible for own SOPs & CPD • Consistency of provision is important • Work with local practices key to success
