Activity – Preparing a presentation on one of the major transformation of American society or culture  Deadline – Friday, September 27 th .  10 to 15 minutes presentation.  4 teams – 4 topics.  The women in the 1920s  The Harlem Renaissance in the 1920s  Amazing achievements in the 1920s  Movies and Cartoons in the 1920s

 An effective presentation  Presentation answering a key question.  Structured presentation in 2 or 3 ideas + introduction + conclusion. • Introduction = opening : presentation of the topic and the context • Body = 2 or 3 parts = 2 or 3 ideas • Conclusion = summary – reinforcing key idea  Presentation supported by precise examples.

 Preparing the presentation  Start early.  Gathering historical material: When? Where? What? Why? Who? How?.  Exchange information between team members: ENT – googledoc …  Share evenly the presentation in between the team members.

 Delivering the presentation  Practice: rehearse your presentation alone and in team to read as little as possible, speak from notes (mental maps, note cards) or memory and to be synchornized  Speak clearly and loudly.  Talk slowly and pause between ideas.  Stay fairly still while giving a speech : small gestures possible to support your speech.  Connect to the audience by looking at it.
