Key Dates and Milestones 2018 Dates for Reporting 31 March 2018 Member States to report on data for 2017 specifically for Sendai • Targets A to E (required for SDG indicators) Data will be forwarded to HLPF for the July 2018 • SDG Reporting 1 October 2018 Member States to report on data for 2015, 2016 and 2017 for all • Sendai Targets A to G To be used for Global Platform 2019 and Global Assessment • Report (GAR) 2019
Key Dates and Milestones 2019 Dates for Reporting 31 March 2019 Member States to report on data for 2018 for Sendai • Targets A to E (required for SDG indicators) Data will be forwarded to HLPF for the July 2019 SDG Reporting • Baseline data 30 April 2019 Member States to provide Baseline Data for 2005 to 2014 for • Sendai Targets A-B Baseline Data for Targets C-D is optional •
Key Differences with Previous Reporting HFA Reporting heavily reliant on country reporting capacity • Mostly Qualitative • Reporting every two years • No coherence with MDG reporting • Self-assessed ratings • Sendai Blend of Quantitative and Qualitative • Coherence with SDG reporting • Minor reporting each year (for SDGs) plus • Major reporting once every two years (Sendai cycle) Partner input options for reporting (Country Contributors) •

Possible CSO Options for SFDRR National Options 1) Submit CSO data to Country Sendai Focal Point ; or 2) Request Country Sendai Focal Point to make CSO a “Country Contributor” for specific indicators - This will give partner access to enter data on specific indicator(s) of the Government’s choosing; - Country (Government) will validate data and control what data is included on system. Regional Options 1. Options same as above but for regional reporting: - ADPC (Asia) and - SPC (Pacific)
Regional Support in Asia Pacific Exploring creation of “How to” short instructional videos • Initial Training and Familiarization workshops (2018) • 5-6 March (SE Asia) - Bangkok 8-9 March (South Asia) - Bangkok 8-9 March (NE Asia) - Incheon 26-27 March (Pacific) – Suva SFM Tech Support from Asia Pacific (Bangkok Office) • Encourage countries to use local, national and regional • partners to support national reporting (reduce burden)
