THE SECRET TO UNLEASHING THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN YOUR LIFE! ADVENT HOPE, NOV 27TH, 2010
“A revival of true godliness among us is the greatest and most urgent of all our needs. To seek this should be our FIRST work. There must be an earnest effort to obtain the blessing of the Lord, not because God is not willing to bestow His blessing upon us, but because we are unprepared to receive it. It is our work by confession , by humiliation, repentance , and earnest prayer to fulfill the conditions upon which God has promised to grant us His blessing. A revival need be expected ONLY in answer to prayer.” Last Day Events, Chap 13 - “The Latter Rain”
Testimonies
“You know Melody, PRAYER is our most important work! But you know why more people don’t pray? It’s because true prayer is such hard work! It’s easier to work then pray. And so we continue to work in our own strength, rejoicing when one or two people come to Christ. When if we would be on our faces before God in prayer, He would do the work, and it would be in His strength, and we would see thousands converted where today there are only a few!” Pastor Paul Ratsara, Division President of the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division
How do we know difference between true & false Revival? “To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them!” Isa 8:20 The Word - “Receiving the Word” Dr. Samuel Pipim Revival & Prayer - “Lord Revive Us Again” Mark Finley Prayer & Holy Spirit - “Power Spirituality Paul Ratsara - Audioverse Series
God’s Covenant Promises with Us... II Chron 7:14 Matt 18:19,20
Matt 18:19,20 “This promise is made on the condition that the United Prayers of the church are offered, and in answer to these prayers, there may be expected a power GREATER than that which comes in answer to private prayer. The power given will be proportionate to the unity of the members and their love for God and for one another.” 9MR 748
Four Part United Prayer Hour - Praise/Worship - Confession - Supplication - Thanksgiving
PRAISE Ps 100:4 “I will enter His gates with Thanksgiving, and I will enter His courts with praise.” II Chron 16:29 says, “Give unto the Lord the glory DUE unto His name. Bring an offering and come before Him. Worship the Lord in the beauty of Holiness.” “The soul may ascend nearer heaven on the wings of praise. God is worshiped with song and music in the courts above, and as we express our gratitude we are approximating to the worship of the heavenly hosts. …We do not pray any too much, but we are too sparing of giving thanks. If the loving-kindness of God called forth more thanksgiving and praise, we would have far more power in prayer. We would abound more and more in the love of God, and have more bestowed to praise Him for.” 5T, p. 317 Testimony - Singing
CONFESSION Read Nehemiah 9 - They took entire days for confession and repentance... James 5:16 - “Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another that ye may be healed...” If these words of inspiration were obeyed, they would lead to such results as are set forth by the apostle Peter: "Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently.” All are fallible, all make mistakes and fall into sin; but if the wrong-doer is willing to see his errors, as they are made plain by the convicting Spirit of God, and in humility of heart will confess them to God and to the brethren, then he may be restored; then the wound that sin has made will be healed. If this course were pursued, there would be in the church much more child-like simplicity and brotherly love, heart beating in unison with heart." Review & Herald Dec 16, 1890 “There is nothing that Satan fears so much as that the people of God shall clear the way by removing every hindrance, so that the Lord can pour out His Spirit upon a languishing church and an impenitent congregation.” MYP 133
SUPPLICATION Matt 7:7-8 James 4:2, John 16:24 “Ye have not because ye ask not. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name. Ask and ye shall receive that your joy may be full.” “It is part of God’s plan to grant us, in answer to the prayer of faith, that which He would not bestow did we not thus ask.” GC 525 "Prayer moves the arm of Omnipotence. He who marshals the stars in order in the heavens, whose word controls the waves of the great deep--the same infinite Creator will work in behalf of His people, if they will call upon Him in faith." Heavenly Places, p. 351 Testimony - Mother’s Prayers
THANKSGIVING Isa 65:24 - “Before they call I will answer...” Ps 103:2,3-“Bless the Lord oh my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities and who healeth all thy diseases.” Eph 3:20 - “Now unto Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly ABOVE all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” II Chron 16:9 – “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to shew himself strong in behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.” Testimony - Thanking God for the miracle before it happened!
