The Phantom Project Professional support services to be the best you can be
Vision Every athlete can engage with their passion for performance canoeing in a professional environment, in order to become the best they can be. Mission Retaining athletes motivation to pursue their dream by providing professional support services for senior athletes who want to be world class achievers, who do not currently receive fully integrated support from existing governing body programs. Objectives 1. Attracting resources towards centrally coordinated service provision to athletes. 2. Coordinate support services that bring additional impact on core individual preparation strategies. 3. Coordinating a group of individuals who can connect their main points of interest. 4. Supporting athletes to create the adequate conditions (financial, social etc) to fully commit to achieve their ambition. Founders Oscar McBurney Oscar came to the water through whitewater guiding and coaching, and has travelled the world making first descents and breaking boundaries in whitewater kayaking. Oscar began slalom in 2015, and in 2016 made the New Zealand U23 team. He has since decided to continue his canoeing career in GB and is currently based in Scotland. Having recognised the difficulty of being a self funded athlete, The Phantom Project is a vital opportunity to bring a method of support to people that are just under the radar of full support, bringing them to the best level they can achieve. Amber has a degree in English, and applies her writing skills to her blog on www.ambermaslen.com. I recognise the skills and mindset that have grown in me throughout my slalom career.
