ABOUT THE NIAGARA ESCARPMENT COMMISSION • Composed of 17 members: 8 region/county reps and 9 “public-at-large” reps with the Chair • Supported by staff of 27 in Georgetown and Thornbury offices, decisions are made independently, impartially, and according to a risk management framework. • NEC meets monthly, usually in Georgetown, to review Development Permit Applications, Plan Amendments and review NEC business •NEC reports to Ontario’s Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry
