Building-Level Point of Contact Launch Best Practices It is recommended that each location a district is using Launch have a point of contact that enrolls students and works directly with the Launch office. Student Support & Monitoring Students in Launch courses should be monitored by a teacher, counselor or principal at the site level. Full-Time Online Students Mentors Students who elect an online-only schedule are more successful if they have a caring adult in the school system who provides support. Follow Drop Policies Launch provides all students a 20-day window to begin a course. It is recommended that students who do not begin the course, or who are unsuccessful in the first 20 days seek alternative course options.
Launch Best Practices Consider a space for online students Many districts are considering a Launch Lab or space where students can work on their online courses. Parent Communication Plan Notifying parents their students are participating in an online course and providing the parent observation username and password is a positive way to get parents involved.
