February – Educational Seminar The Education Committee coordinates the monthly presentations (all months except January and March) In addition, the Education committee sets up training seminars to provide CEU’s In February we held a seminar on Solar Permitting and Plan review.
February Presentation by Bill McGovern Mr. McGovern presented the Solar Training and Education for Professionals (STEP) program.
March - EduCode The EduCode Committee works year-round to bring us the EduCode Conference. Over 1,100 attendees, many classes, and a very good profit back to the Chapter! Thanks again to the entire EduCode team for another spectacular conference! Note, preparations are underway for next year’s EduCode,

April A presentation on general legal stamping requirements for plans and documents and what the boards of engineers and architects specifically require for plans and documents.
April - Pool Safety Our Public Outreach Committee has responsibility for a wide variety of events. April is when the valley entities highlight safety issues with toddlers in swimming pools. The Chapter donates to help local jurisdictions provide toddler swim classes. Chapter donation helped provide swim classes for over 451 toddlers.

April, US Vets Open House SNICC worked with the Southern Nevada Chapter of HomeAid to assist with the renovation of a new kitchen-total value of all work: $400,000 CHRISTA AND HOMEAID MEMBERS

May The Chapter presentation was by Doug Evans called “Plastics in Building Construction.”
May - Scholarships Also in May, the Chapter was one of many scholarship donors at the Clark County Public Education Foundation Luncheon The Chapter has a record number of scholarship recipients this year(20).

June A full overview of the budget was provided to the Chapter. The Chapter heard from Dave Pasquinelli, Chair of the Finance and Assets Review Committee, and a presentation from Kevin McOsker, SNICC Treasurer.
July The speaker for the July Chapter meting was Greg Welch with the Nevada State Contractors Board. Greg is a longtime member of the SN-ICC. His topic for the meeting focused on the contractors board, how it works and how it serves the construction industry.
August David Dodge, McKeon Door "Draft Curtains: Understanding the Code Compliance for Fire and/or Smoke Rated Curtain Systems" Assisted by Victoria Rios. The long version was presented in May at Clark County.
September Joint meeting with SEASoN. Topic: Unreinforced Masonry Buildings in Las Vegas presented by Werner Hellmer. Largest number of attendees

November SN-ICC presented an educational program November 2 entitled "GETTING CODE OFFICIALS AND SPECIAL EVENT PROVIDERS ALL UNDER THE SAME TENT" with tents, canopy and special event requirements in the I- Codes. The program was be presented by Jim Erickson, Safety Advocates for Tents & Special Events (SAFTSE).
November SNICC member Michael Gentille, PCNA Group, presented a program entitled “Significant Changes to the ICC A117.1-2017 Standard for Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities”.

And Now… I want to focus on future work… Our committees need volunteers!!! Please join a committee in the upcoming year!!! Public Outreach, Membership, Communications, EduCode, Education, High-School Technical training, and 2019 ABM We’ve accomplished great things, but that can only continue with your help!!!
