  5. 2014 Highlights, Pt I • Establishment of a National Board in emphatic fashion in both chapters • Also held events in Hoi An, Danang and Nha Trang. Now we have events scheduled in Vung Tau and Hue • Hanoi office reopened with Ms Hang, supported with an intern • 3 new replacement staff in HCMC all Australian Alumni • Establishment of Annual events that can build their own history; and the Fireside Chat now has its own branding • 2 nd Annual Real Estate Symposium in HCMC expanded to Hanoi . Generated sponsorship revenue and media coverage for the first time • With KiwiCham, launched Inaugural Great ANZAC Debate in HCMC. Combined with other ANZAC events in April, raises Australian and NZ profile

  6. 2014 Highlights, Pt II • Annual Balls, which lost money in 2013, were not brought back in 2014 • In HCMC, Saigon Melbourne Cup was introduced and made a modest profit. Secured cash sponsorship from Australia, generated publicity in media, raised the profile of Australia. Will be held again this year. • In Hanoi, the group, Aussie Oi, will host an “ Australiana Ball” on 18 April which AusCham has offered to help promote. • 2 nd Annual Golf Scramble in HCMC which attracted a major hole in one prize (a Harley Davidson) and media coverage. Also tried a golf day in Hanoi with modest success • Held AusCham’s first roundtable with CEOs and HR Directors • Secured a two year Titanium sponsorship deal with RMIT University Vietnam

  7. 2014 Highlights, Pt III • Introduced the Inaugural AusCham RMIT Executive MBA Scholarship which is only open to AusCham members • Held the Inaugural Higher Australian Education to Employment Fair in HCMC • Launched the Welcome Back Aussie Alumni events that were held simultaneously in 4 cities - Hanoi, Danang, Nha Trang and HCMC • Expanding reach into Australia through universities (potential members and sponsors) • Introduced factory visits through our member, Vietnam Supply Chain • Launched two special purpose websites for annual events (Saigon Melbourne Cup and Welcome Back Aussie Alumni) and new AusCham website has just gone live

  11. 2014 Fundraising for Charity • Heartbeat Vietnam was the 2014 recipient of AusCham’s Charity Funds which totalled $7,634 • Through matching funding arrangements, Heartbeat Vietnam is able to reduce the $3,300 cost of life- saving heart surgery to just $1,000 for donors like AusCham FUNDS RAISED • $2,069 – 2014 AusCham Scramble, HCMC • $5,565 – 2014 Tabcorp Saigon Melbourne Cup • $7,634

  15. Business Working Group, 2015 AusCham is looking to introduce a Business Working Group from the following list with priority being given to those groups generating the most active interest. Pick the low hanging fruit! • Business Connect – By using modern platforms such as LinkedIn • Government Connect – With Australian government, Austrade, visiting dignitaries etc. • Mentor Program – Includes a database of experienced, relevant business savvy people in Vietnam • Alumni Program - Involve Alumni in business working groups • Intern Program - For Australian businesses wanting to more effectively engage with Asia • ASEAN & Asia Networking – Better promote and engage with Australia Business Asia • Information – Review and update information provided on website • Referrals – Review current system to increase efficiency and effectiveness. • Gateway to ASEAN – Operating in Vietnam could be seen as a great gateway to the rest of ASEAN (and Asia).

Growing Corporate Sponsors and Members in 2015 Sponsorship market is still tight in Vietnam • Seeking sponsorship revenue from outside Australia eg IPA, “ Tabcorp ” (event sponsor at Saigon Melbourne Cup) and universities • Grooming Australian Business Alumni market for employers increases level of interest of companies in Vietnam to also include HR Managers • Attracting interest and networks of Australian Business Alumni increases chances of recruiting more sponsors and members • AusCham’s reach is spreading across Vietnam and into Australia. Also regionally.

Updated 2015 Charity Policy At its meeting on 10 March, 2015, the Board resolved to update the criteria for selecting beneficiaries under its Charity Policy to fund sustainable (where appropriate) charitable projects that aim to alleviate poverty, raise living standards, create opportunities or provide crisis relief in affected communities. Charitable projects should meet the following criteria: • They have an Australian connection or are a Vietnamese NGO • They are sustainable (focus on investment rather than expenditure) • They are grass roots • They are operated by charities with administrations that are voluntary or consume less than 15 per cent of revenue • They do not receive large corporate funding and their funding requirements are similar, or less, to the funding already being generated • Preferably, not be aligned with or represented as corporate CSR programs

Details of proposed change to charter The proposed changes to the current Charter dated 24 March 2014 are designed to: • Restore voting rights to Vietnam-resident honourary lifetime members • Introduce two new classes of membership; namely SME Voting Membership and SME Associate Non Voting Membership for eligible organisations with less than 20 employees; and • Address certain other minor points aimed at improving consistency and clarity.
