  4. 6 Introduction (Taunggyi) • Taunggyi, capital and largest city of Shan State, is hilly region • Elevation of 4,590 ft above sea level • Houses are located on hill tops and neighboring sloping ground, which consists of a shallow soil overburden. In most cases underlying bedrock formations are dolomite or limestone in nature and thickness of overburden is limited to few meters only. 10. 12 The objectives of RBP for Landslide Risk Assessment  To do landslide risk assessment for Taunggyi  To produce guideline based on the Landslide risk assessment  To produce disaster management action plan based on the guideline  To give the awareness of landslides to local people ASEAN PROJECT ON DISASTER RISK REDUCTION BY INTEGRATING CLIMATE CHANGE PROJECTION INTO FLOOD AND LANDSLIDE RISK ASSESSMENT

  11. 13 Methodology for disaster risk assessment and mapping • Hazard asssessment use statistic landslide susceptibility method • Vulnerability and capacity assessment will be conducted using analytical hierarchy process (AHP). • Climate change factor will be derived from NASA Global Climate Model (GCM), downscaled to river basin scale ASEAN PROJECT ON DISASTER RISK REDUCTION BY INTEGRATING CLIMATE CHANGE PROJECTION INTO FLOOD AND LANDSLIDE RISK ASSESSMENT
