  3. Doorway to the Sacred Campaign Overview Narthex Addition and Improvements St. Peter the Apostle Parish has been in need of an indoor space for parishioners to gather before and after mass that is separate from the Sanctuary, which should remain serene and thus respect the sanctity of the mass. The proposed Narthex addition will serve as the main entrance to the church, keeping the Sanctuary quiet and connecting to the parish center. In addition to the Narthex project, the following improvements are covered by this campaign: • Relocation of choir to create center aisle • Reconfiguration of Sanctuary to allow for additional seating • Relocation of restrooms to more appropriate and safer location • Added access to cry room from new Narthex • Overhaul of existing audio equipment • Remodeling of Altar to provide enclosure for the Tabernacle • Construction of a bell tower on the south side of new Narthex

  4. Reasons for Pursuing this Campaign • First and foremost, the Doorway to the Sacred Campaign is a response to the will and desires of the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic family of faith. • More specifically, this campaign seeks to address the consistent feedback that as the St. Peter parish family has grown, improvements to its church facilities are needed in order to provide a place to worship that is adequately safe , sacred , and functional . • While other initiatives were considered, a committee of parishioners led by Father Manuel and with input from the Diocese of Fort Worth, concluded that improvements to church facilities was the most pressing capital need at St. Peter the Apostle.

  5. Reasons for Pursuing this Campaign S AFETY • Unattended minors using restroom • Poor visibility from most seating areas in Sanctuary S ANCTITY • Noise in the Sanctuary during sacred ceremonies and prayer services • Restrooms (and their smells and noises) in the Sanctuary • Current setup violates many liturgical requirements (Tabernacle, etc.) F UNCTIONALITY • Not enough room for parishioners • Choir area inadequate and in disadvantageous spot • Audio is in disrepair

  6. Mapping our Campaign Journey F UNDRAISING M ILESTONES • Total project cost of approximately $1.1M • We need $250K in cash, additional $300K in pledges to commence construction • $832K is enough for the completion of the Narthex addition • $1.1M is approximate amount needed for completion of ALL Doorway to the Sacred Campaign projects. T IMELINE TO C OMPLETION • Cannot break ground until initial fundraising milestone has been met. • From there, project is expected to take 12-18 months for 100% completion. • Biggest impact on timing will be in receiving as much in cash commitments as soon as possible. C ONSTRUCTION P ROCESS • Additions within sanctuary and adding on of Narthex will mean mass services and other events will be conducted in alternate locations while these areas are unavailable (gym, parish hall, etc.). • For safety reasons, church facilities will reopen once all inspections have been passed and all permits have been successfully closed out.

  7. Next Steps • Answer your questions and get your feedback • Print and distribute Campaign Case Statements to parishioners • Formally launch Diocese of Fort Worth Advancement Foundation fundraise • Continue to educate and raise awareness of the campaign within the parish
