2 (3) Stockholm University. The course is intended for tutors, i.e. supervisors, of postgraduate research students, but does not require previous experience of tutoring. When the number of applicants exceeds the number of available places selection takes place based on the following criteria: • The primary criterion for selection of participants is the date of application. Priority is also given to applicants who have applied to take the course during previous terms. • The course leaders aim at a spread of participants regarding faculty, gender and experience of research supervision. Participants who have submitted an application within one month after the course opened for application will be admitted 'out of turn' if they either work on a subject area that is not already represented by two or more participants on the course or belong to a faculty that is underrepresented among the participants (less than 25%). • The course leaders aim at gender balance in the 40% to 60% interval among the participants. • Participants who have submitted an application within one month after the course opened for application will be admitted 'out of turn' if they have considerable experience of research supervision while many of the other participants do not have any such experience. Course Fees The course fee is 7,500 Skr and is usually paid by the participant's department or faculty. It is the responsibility of each participant to find out how the fee is paid by their own department or faculty and to ensure that the fee is actually paid. An application to take the course is binding in the sense that participants who leave the course without completing it are obliged to pay the fee.
