Goals of This Summit - Examine the evidence base around the changing roles of community colleges in the evolving STEM education landscape in several important areas - Outreach and Partnerships Between Community Colleges and Four-Year Institutions - Transfer Issues for Students from Two- to Four-Year Colleges and Universities - Subjects that can serve as gateways or barriers to college completion (mathematics)
Goals of This Summit - Bring together people from across the higher education system to explore the changing roles of community colleges and their relationships with four- year colleges and universities around issues of improving STEM education - Begin conversations about new opportunities for students, faculty, and institutions that result from new partnerships between 2- and 4-year colleges & universities and in context of other national initiatives - Improvement of undergraduate STEM education (e.g., BHEF, AAU, APLU, AAC&U, HHMI) - Increased attainment and completion in community colleges (e.g., Lumina Foundation, Gates Foundation, College Board)
