Mathematics in Context
What can I do to help my child be more successful in Math? 1. Play games 2. Model and promote a Growth Mindset 3. Never associate being good at math with speed. 4. Never share with your children the idea that you were bad at math at school or you dislike it. 5. Encourage number sense – having an idea of the size of numbers and being able to separate and combine numbers flexibly. 6. Always be encouraging and never tell kids they are wrong when they are working on math problems. Instead try and understand their logic and work through it with them.
