SPFBL 2014 Season Parents Night 3/25/2014 ������������������� • This is SPFBL’s 59 th Year • SPFBL and all facilities are smoke and alcohol free • Review Code of Conduct • Bat Regulations – Cal/Ripken Babe Ruth regulations as described on the website • Field Schedule is very close to complete – Please! No one on the fields before they are released to the sports teams – Game and Practice schedules will be distributed prior to the season • There is no parking permitted on Valley Avenue near Booth Field ������������������������������������ • All must complete RUTGERS Safety Training course • Teach and display good sportsmanship at all times • Teach proper baseball techniques • Communicate crisply with parents regarding schedule • Be part of the association leadership in partnership with the executive board • Volunteer for events as part of the leadership • Encourage parent and player participation at SPFBL sponsored events and fundraisers • Automated surveys will be sent out in 2014 • Ensure a safe environment for players at all times ������������������������������������� • Code of Conduct • Take an active role in the development of your child’s baseball knowledge and skill • Communicate with coaches if scheduling interferes with player participation • Be on time, both before and after games and practices • Cheer positively for your team. Fundraising coins – see next slide Patriots tickets – Saturday, April 26 th – order forms 4. League dinner/fundraiser – Friday, May 9 th – order forms 5. 6. Team pictures – May (date TBD) + 1 hi4res team picture 7. Each player bats once per inning. • All players play the field. Coaches in field to instruct players. • We use a vinyl covered sponge rubber baseball • Division VP assigns players to teams. We typically align players based on school districts so they may be with players they already know. • Each team plays once per week on Saturday afternoons, plus one weeknight practice • Time limited to 1 hour for games �����7� ;+*�'��������)*+,= • For players in 1 st Grade • Coach4pitch • 74pitches, full roster bats • All players play the field. Coaches in field to instruct players. • Division VP assigns players to teams. We typically align players based on school districts so they may be with players they already know. • Each team plays once per week on Saturday afternoons, plus one weeknight practice • Time limited to 1 ½ hours for games 5
