  6. Changing Sentences Loudly, the lion roars. verb adverb When writing fronted adverbials we often follow with a comma. Use your hands to draw the shape of a comma in the air.

  8. Changing Sentences are adverbial words or phrases at the Fronted adverbials beginning of a sentence, which are used to describe the action (verb) that follows. Write, on your whiteboard, the simple sentence: I went to the zoo. • Come up with at least 3 fronted adverbials. • Read the new sentence aloud to your partner, using physical punctuation to show where the comma is. Challenge : Try using a fronted adverbial from each of the different columns.
