MAP Brand Promotion Basics • Companies apply yearly for funding • Companies must submit Brand Promotion applications prior to conducting eligible marketing activities. • Get approval before conducting activities • Documentation for eligible activities is submitted to SUSTA for reimbursement after activity has been completed. Brand Promotion in Numbers • Maximum requests: - $ 25,000 – 1 st time applicants, no export experience - $ 50,000– 1 st time applicants, have export experience - $300,000 – after 1 st year participating with SUSTA • Minimum yearly request: $2,500 • Fees: – $250 application fee – 6% administration fee based on allocation • 5 year limit per country (including U.S.) Helping southern U.S. companies export food and agricultural products around the world. www.susta.org

Small Companies Book High Sales at SIAL Middle East Trade Show • 2012 SUSTA Pavilion in Abu Dhabi for the SIAL Middle East Trade Show • Three participating companies from Florida and Georgia – introduced 25 new products – met over 50 new international buyer contacts. • Three companies booked $850,000 in sales on site and anticipate contacts from the show will generate over $3 million in additional sales within the next 12 months. • Quote from SUSTA participant: “We have participated in activities through SUSTA for several years, and they are always valuable. 2012 Georgia Participation • Eight companies from Georgia benefited from Brand Promotion matching funds totaling more than $150,000. – The companies promoted alligator skins, icing, sauces, pet food, beef, produce, seafood and poultry in Italy, France, Australia, United Kingdom, Colombia, Singapore, Canada, South Africa, China, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Brazil. • Twenty-six Georgia companies participated in 23 of SUSTA’s MAP-funded events. – Target markets - South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Taiwan, Australia, Germany, France, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Canada. • Georgia participants reported more than $1.5 million in sales resulting from these promotions, with more than $12 million in additional orders expected over the next 12 months.
