What does the Third District have that is unique within the Districts of the Sons of Norway? A Charitable Trust The Trust was formalized in 1971 as the Charitable Trust. For over 40 years, the Charitable Trust has provided modest support to District 3 members with subsistence support critical to their physical, social and psychological well being
The Trust consists of various investments held at Morgan Stanley that generate interest and dividends that go back into the Trust as cash used for benefits that are paid. Additional cash comes from the generous donations from members and lodges throughout the year
Oversight of the Trust is provided by a committee of Trustees consisting of the Third District Counselor (Chairperson) and four lay members of the District nominated by the President and affirmed by vote of the District Board.
