Case se Stu tudy y – Swa wansea nsea Social ial Ec Econom nomy y Fo Forum um • The consortium consists of Gwalia, Cyrenians, SYSHP, Caer Las, YMCA and Cymorth Cymru. • The purpose of the consortium is to provide a joined up business offer, promote project development and act as a focus for the social economy in Swansea. It also intends to provide a conduit for discussions with the City Council. • The group has existed for some time as a place to exchange knowledge and network. It is now in the process of developing a joint operational plan. • Once the strategy is clear it is likely they will form a company to manage their joint interests.

Case se Stu tudy y – MIND ND • The MIND organisations in South East Wales, including Monmouth, have been offering services to support mental health and wellbeing. • The individual MINDS, such as Newport MIND work independently but do share understandings. • The group is taking this a stage further by coming together to tender for joint projects and to see if they can realise other benefits. • They are also anticipating changes to the funding landscape and want to be proactive and prepared to respond to this. • They are considering a Memorandum of Understanding as part of their planning – this will provide the ground rules for cooperation.
