Why are both arenas important? It is our job as coaches/educators to create and nurture well-rounded students who will be positive members of society once they leave school. High School Athletics combined w/ strong academic programming (which we have at Silver Creek) provide the following: 1. A place of BELONGING for every student. 2. Opportunities to show COURAGE. 3. Experiences that lead to FAILURE. 4. CONFIDENCE that results from trying. 5. GROWTH of the student’s inner life. * Participation in interscholastic athletic programs will provide students with the skills necessary TO BE PREPARED FOR LIFE.
Both arenas (continued)… Our athletes are STUDENT-ATHLETES first. They learn and model CONFIDENCE, GROWTH, TEAMWORK, and TIME MANAGEMENT skills in and out of the classroom. They have better ATTENDANCE and higher GPAs. They serve as AMBASSADORS for our school in the community based primarily on impressions from athletic contests, where they perform with SPORTSMANSHIP, EXCELLENCE, and GRACE.

Parent Expectations Support team/program win or lose Support your child no matter if they played or not. Tell your child you love to see them COMPETE. Conduct yourself as a role-model for your child and our athletes.
Communication Matters of student/spectator safety -> let us know immediately. It is okay to communicate with coach if something is bothering the player. I have appreciated the many conversations I had with parents last year. I, still, would love to meet and chat with each of you at sporting events. If you have concerns, complaints, etc., please follow this approach: Player approaches coach. Player/Parent approach coach. If no closure… Call (720) 494-3721 or email (schuyler_kyle@svvsd.org) during school hours to set up an appointment. Twitter Account: @SCRaptorsAD Website: schs-raptors.com
