  6.  The athletic department has a full time strength and conditioning coach.  The weight room will be open to everyone (schedules will be posted) for In & Out of season workout programs.  Injury Prevention is the main goal of our strength program.

  8.  We want students to use athletics at St. Paul to serve as a vehicle to make healthy life decisions. - All student athletes will sign a team drug and alcohol contract and will be asked to help promote a student driven initiative that is being developed as we speak about appropriate use of social media.

  9.  We hold our students to a high standard and need your help in modeling those behaviors.  Last year our athletic participation rate was @ nearly 80% of the entire student body.  If as a community everyone involved is not working toward the same goal; “To Be A Truly Great Catholic High School” it will be difficult to achieve.

  14.  During the 2014 Legislative session the Connecticut General Assembly passed Public Act No. 14-66. That act, entitled " An Act Concerning Youth Athletics and Concussions ", was signed into law by Governor Dannel Malloy on May 28th.  Education of Parents and Students.  24 Hour Notification.  Concussion Consent Form & now the Cardiac Arrest Education and Consent Form as well.

  15.  Whenever a student is diagnosed with a concussion, the school must be notified in the form of a Dr’s. note - goes directly to the school nurse.  Any accommodations that need to be made with regards to academics should be communicated in the doctor’s note.  When a student has been medically cleared by a doctor to resume normal activities, a new doctor’s note should be sent to school. Return to play protocol .
