[ 9 ] Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: [ 10 ] And they saw the Elohim of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness. [ 11 ] And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw Elohim, and did eat and drink. Hebrews 7:11-16 [ 11 ] If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchizedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron? [ 12 ] For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law. [ 7 ] But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: [ 8 ] The Holy Spirit this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: [ 9 ] Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; [ 10 ] Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation . 12
