SNAP FESTIVAL! - SEX WORKERS NARRATIVES ARTS AND POLITICS - IS THE FIRST FRENCH FESTIVAL ENTIRELY DEDICATED TO PERFORMANCES, SPEECHES AND ISSUES REGARDING SEX WORK. The primary goal of SNAP! Festival is to give the opportunity to sex workers practicing various types of professional activities - sexcam, porn, prostitution, BDSM, etc. - to speak for themselves To shed light from within on the various ways to experiment these activities, which are too often ignored and stigmatized WHO ARE THE SEX WORKERS ? They are trans and cis-gender women and men, students, casuals workers, migrants, LGBTQI+ people. Thus, beyond the sensationalism generally associated with this type of subject, sex work is at the intersection of major theoretical and political issues, as well as at the heart of reflections on the representable, the uses of self, relationships at work, sexuality, class and gender.

SNAP ! EDITION #1 : HIGHLIGHTS: Among an abundant program inviting more than 50 contributors, artists sex workers and researchers, some of the highlights of the 2018 edition are to be noticed: 1 round table on porn and the working conditions of actors in this changing industry, with sex workers working in mainstream porn, gay porn, alternative porn 1 documentary screening and debate on the world of sex cam 1 meeting with Ovidie around her movie «Everything’s better than a Hooker» 10 radical performances by sex workers during a festive and committed « Whores Performances » evening
SNAP ! EDITION #2: PERSPECTIVES Scheduled for fall 2020, the 2nd edition of SNAP festival! is intended to be internationally oriented. In addition to the fact that this leads to a fully bilingual French/ English programme and the related translation work, the themes and invitations will focus on, among other things: 1 focus on pro-sex feminist movements born in the United States in the early 1980s 1 focus on issues related to the porn and sex cam industries A film partnership with the San Francisco Sex Worker Fest, emblematic festival of queer and feminist counter-culture in the world, allowing the screening of unedited films in France A selection of performances on striptease by strippers from different European countries Films and round table on sex workers’ self-organizations and their struggles around the world against violence, sexism, transphobia and exploitation
